Guiding principles/values of the organization: ICA USA identifies five foundational values that underlie the Technology of Participation (ToP): 1. Inclusive Participation = the methods invite and sustain the participation of all members of a group. 2. Teamwork and Collaboration = ToP is based on the belief that teamwork and collaboration are essential to getting a task done in the most effective and economical way while fostering a genuine sense of collegiality. 3. Individual and Group Creativity = the methods elicit a person's rational and intuitive capacities by encouraging a dialogue between head and heart. 4. Action and Ownership = the methods encourage a group to fully own the decision it makes and to take action. 5. Reflection and Learning - time is built into every process for reflection and sharing to confirm both the individual and group resolve and allow for transformation.
