IAF Endorsed™ Facilitation Training Program

Recognising excellence in facilitation training.

The IAF Endorsed™ Facilitation Training Program (EFTP) ensures educational programs meet IAF’s high standards for quality and professional integrity.

If you are seeking to grow your facilitation skills, choosing an IAF Endorsed™ Facilitation Training Program ensures you receive relevant and practical facilitation training from qualified instructors.

Being “IAF Endorsed™” means that the program:

  • Aligns with all the IAF Core Competencies, either as a Comprehensive EFTP or a Focused EFTP
  • Is credible, well-designed, and ethically delivered

  • Provides a balanced mix of theory, practice, and reflection

  • Enables participants to demonstrate competence, not just attend a class

  • Models the very principles of facilitation that it teaches

How the endorsement program works

The IAF assessment process includes reviewing documents and talking to program personnel and past participants. Assessors give training providers feedback focussed on strengths and areas for improvement. Once a program achieves Endorsed status, a regular renewal process ensures programs continue to meet quality standards.

Here’s how our comprehensive assessment process works:

Application

Training providers submit a detailed overview of their program, including curriculum, learning outcomes, facilitation methods, and trainer qualifications (documents will be provided by IAF). There is an application fee of $300 USD to be paid with the initial submission of the application and signed agreement.

Initial review

Applications are checked against the IAF Core Competencies and the required criteria in the EFTP standards to identify significant gaps early in the process.

If successful, the training provider will move on to the full assessment process.

Full assessment

Applicants are invited to submit evidence for every criteria in the IAF EFTP Standards.

IAF Certified™ Assessors will evaluate the evidence and:

  • Speak directly with program faculty, staff, administrators, and stakeholders to understand the design, delivery approach, and organisational structure.

  • Interview past participants to gather insights on how the program supported their learning and skill development.

These conversations give programs an opportunity to show how they actually align with the standards in practice, as well as on paper.

The assessment fee is $3200 USD.

Feedback and decision

The IAF Assessors compile a report highlighting strengths, and making recommendations for improvement. Successful programs receive a one- or three-year endorsement, and are featured on the IAF list of Endorsed™ Facilitation Training Programs.

Renewal

At the end of the endorsement period, programs reapply to maintain their IAF Endorsed™ Training Program status. This ensures ongoing alignment with the IAF’s quality standards.

The annual fee to maintain endorsement is $500 USD. The annual fee will be waived for every calendar year a full assessment has be conducted.
