As facilitators, we’re often invited to help groups start initiatives, figure out how to deal with complex problems and situations. We usually pour our heart and soul into designing and facilitating a workshop that will allow the group to reach the best outcome.
But what happens next? Sometimes we will hear about the impact of our work years, if not decades later. Sometimes nothing will happen at all and we may wonder what was it all about…
As facilitators, we provide spaces for people to work on topics, and our sessions are usually designed from start to finish. Providing closure to participants is important in order to move on. But what if we, as facilitators, do not provide closure? What if we don’t hear the stories of what happened after our interventions?
This workshop will let you explore one of the darker side of facilitation. The one we have less control over: how we deal with closure, or the absence of it.
