It has been an eventful year in IAF and, specifically, in the Africa region. Here are some of the highlights and updates from across the region:
Membership and Chapters
As we enter the year-end's festive season, it also marks the end of my time on the IAF Board as Chair. I have been on the Board since 2014, having first been Regional Director of Asia, then Vice-Chair, and then Chair for the past two years. These are my thoughts about where the IAF is and where it might be heading, as we enter into 2018 and beyond.

Thinking about becoming an IAF Certified™ Professional Facilitator but need more information? Have you been postponing the decision? Starting in December the IAF will host a series of webinar conversations on “What’s involved in attaining the CPF accreditation”.
This month, we have news from India, China, Africa, Sweden, Japan and Canada.
The IAF Nominating Committee would like to announce the results of the election and the new IAF board members. The candidates officially voted in are:

October is a buzzing month for us - we’ve got International Facilitation Week, Board elections, and the IAF EME Conference in Paris.
This gives us ample opportunity to change minds and raise awareness of the power of facilitation around the world. Let’s light up our social media worlds with reflections and insights on the theme of Diversity of Facilitation: Evolve, Expand and Empower, using the hashtags #facweek & #ifw2017

The following positions are being called for:
International Facilitation Week (IFW) happens during the 3rd week of October. This year, it will land on 16-22 October. The intent of IFW is to promote the power of facilitation worldwide, encourage networking and sharing the positive impacts of facilitation. Individual facilitators, IAF Chapters or Regions can celebrate IFW in any way, shape or form as they choose.
