IAF’s 2019 Conference the Americas Shortlisted for Best Conference Development Award
[TORONTO ] The International Association of Facilitators (IAF) has been shortlisted for Best Conference Development at the International & European Association Awards 2020. IAF’s first-ever trilingual international conference, the 2019 Conference of the Americas, held in Portuguese, Spanish and English, is one of five projects nominated by the Association of Association Executives (AAE) in the category, which recognises the successful development or growth of an element of or the whole of an existing conference.
“We’re thrilled to be recognised by the AAE for our work to promote the power of facilitation worldwide,” said IAF Chair Vinay Kumar, CPF. “With our first-ever trilingual event, we reached a greater audience than ever and paved the way for our Facilitation Has Impact movement, which is influencing a wider population of leaders to make an impact by partnering with professional facilitators.”
The nomination marks the second straight year in which IAF has been shortlisted by the AAE, which also awarded IAF the prize for Best Membership Engagement in 2019.
“Thank you to the AAE for considering us for Best Conference Development. It was an honour to help bring this first-of-its kind event to fruition,” added Gillian Chambers, IAF Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. “The team worked really hard to pull it off, so it’s really great to be recognised and share in the continued celebration of its success.”
The 2020 Best Conference Development Award is one of 12 categories scheduled to be presented during the Associations World Congress, 8 December in Lisbon.
