Candidate Statement

IAF membership is the most significant membership I have. It reflects my professional commitment as a facilitator to be at the forefront of best practice, globally.

I joined IAF because I wanted to be recognized as a facilitator and I wanted to be engaged with a global network of like-minded people. It means a lot to me to be a member of the global peak body for facilitators.

My background in developing membership systems and building value in organizational service offerings to have greater relevance and appeal to members. I do this through polling and direct engagement with people at the front line such as Chapter Directors and members.

I believe that I can create more value and appreciation in the service we deliver to members. We have a great opportunity to bring together communications, conferences, events, services like methods databases, to the benefit of all members.

We also need to adjust our posture, nudging ourselves to keep at the forefront of change.  Not easy in a volunteer organization

For example most people are accessing online sites through mobile devices. We have a high rate of Baby Boomers in our demographic and we need active plans and strategies to transition our membership to Gen X and Y, the next wave of facilitators. The appetite for social media is not the sole solution but we do need to be across better digital delivery of our services.

A healthy membership base ensures that we have a healthy organization and vice versa.

I look forward to assisting the organization with my skills and energy if I am elected to the role of Director Memberships and Chapters.IAF membership is the most significant membership I have. It reflects my professional commitment as a facilitator to be at the forefront of best practice, globally.
