International Facilitation Week (IFW) happens during the 3rd week of October. This year, it will land on 16-22 October. The intent of IFW is to promote the power of facilitation worldwide, encourage networking and sharing the positive impacts of facilitation. Individual facilitators, IAF Chapters or Regions can celebrate IFW in any way, shape or form as they choose.

It's that time again! Nominations are now open for 2017 inductees into the IAF Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame (HoF) celebrates members whose contribution to the field of facilitation and the IAF is extraordinary.
Criteria for nominations
Nominees must have:
- been an IAF member for at least 8 years
- made a significant contribution to the field of facilitation
- shown a high level of dedication to the IAF.
‘Significant contribution’ means the person has advanced the field of facilitation by:
Organisations in Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, India, the Netherlands and the USA have been honoured with awards for effective use of professional facilitation in driving change.
The 2017 Facilitation Impact Awards were formally announced today by Mr Noel Tan, Board Chair of the International Association of Facilitators, the world’s premier association of professional facilitators with members in more than 65 countries.
Later this month, we'll be inviting nominations for IAF members to serve on the IAF Board in 2017-2018. We're looking for candidates for the following global positions:
- Director of Marketing and Partnerships
- Director of Conferences and Events
- Director of Communications.
New Regional Directors will be elected for Asia, Canada, Latin America and Europe & Middle East.

In early May, a few IAF members traveled to Vienna to present the association (and the power of facilitation in general) to a conference of global association executives, with a focus on the IAF’s membership engagement strategy. The recent development a more internationally accessible fee structure and work to increase the availability of IAF certifications and communications in other languages were recognised with a success story.

Together with the International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®), the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) is opening the door for business analysis professionals to bring their facilitation skills to the next level. IIBA and IAF have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) committing to collaborating and supporting the advancement and recognition of each other’s organizations in their respective fields.
