By participating in this session, you will learn about the Gestalt perspective on resistance and ways you can use this to increase your effectiveness as a facilitator. You will be better equipped to help groups engage productively with resistance, resulting in improved outcomes.
Resistance is a natural and inevitable part of any group process, occurring whenever people anticipate change or confront boundaries. Rather than seeing resistance as an obstacle, we can use it as a way of supporting the work of the group, promoting healthy and productive engagement that allows them to bring their work to a close. Participants will: - Heighten awareness of the different forms that resistance might take, and how to distinguish those variations. - Learn approaches to creatively engage with resistance at the level of self, individual, and the group. - Gain appreciation of resistance as a normal part of any successful intervention Presenter: Michael Randel Michael Randel founded Randel Consulting Associates and works with a team of associates to support leaders and organizations through change and growth.
