Rita Callahan is a Certified Organizational Ombuds Practitioner (CO-OP)® and has 20 years’ experience as a Collaboration and Conflict Resolution practitioner in roles as ombuds, mediator, facilitator, conflict coach, trainer, and consultant. She currently works at FEMA Region 2 office in the World Trade Center, and had recent ombuds roles at the National Institutes of Health, the University of California San Francisco, and UC Davis. She was an internal organizational conflict resolution consultant for 6 years at ConEdison, the New York City utility. Rita has been an external consultant providing conflict management, communication and organizational leadership services for varied organizations and government agencies.

Rita has trained thousands of individuals in conflict resolution, negotiation, mediation, facilitation, and other topics, and has expertise in working with groups, teams and departments to communicate and engage conflict more effectively. Rita is an Advanced Practitioner in Workplace Mediation through the Association for Conflict Resolution, a Master Trainer in the Conflict Dynamics Profile®, and is certified in MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Inventory). She has an OD Process Consulting Certification through the Institute of Organizational Development and has completed Coach Training.
