Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is finding every good (best) detail and what makes you happy based on the belief that “There is always something good hidden around us such as humans, animals, objects, emotions, feelings as well as past experiences. They have something positive. We only have to know how to find them and make them useful.”

Therefore, AI is used to find “the best positive experience” in everything around us that we are interested in. It can be called simply as “finding what works” or Positive finding or finding goodness. Experience in this case means what happened in the past whether in the form of:

  • Knowledge – what we know inside and outside our head
  • Thought – what we think and what others think
  • Skill/ability – what we do
  • What have been completed – what brings achievement

They may be extreme experiences of:

  • ourselves
  • our intimates
  • our acquaintances
  • important people
  • etc.

other people/acquaintances/intimates/ourselves as well as:

  • humans– no matters who they are
  • animals– no matters what kind of animals they are
  • objects – no matters what they are
  • situations
  • stories
  • fairy tales
  • etc.
