Celebrating the Festival of Facilitation
“The Festival of Facilitation” was the title of the 2016 IAF North America and Caribbean Conference. It was meant to challenge and so it did to much acclaim. Educators, facilitators, managers, team leaders, team members and anybody else who is responsible for facilitating and actively participating in a shared learning experience, gathered to enrich and challenge themselves to improve the skills in primarily three areas:
-
Releasing Creativity: From tried and widely-accepted to playful, fun and innovative cutting-edge methods, several workshops demonstrated how to help others get their creative juices flowing to inspire exciting outcomes and outputs.
-
Generating Positive Energy: How might we harness our energy and that of participants/group members to enrich the learning experience was at the heart of this theme, sharing ways and methods how to sense and direct individuals and group energies toward what is positive, productive, life-affirming and hopeful.
-
Nurturing Group Synergy: The sessions round this theme led the participants to learn how to inspire and sustain participation, hone interpersonal communication skills and nurture that kind of collaboration that leads to synergy.
