In India, mature corporate clients are warming up to the power of group facilitation to achieve the desired outcomes. As part of my facilitation practice, I focus on the client engagement to draw out the specific desired outcomes of the workshop. I check on the measures of success for each outcome. I share the broad design document with the client to have a mutual agreement. The client gets an opportunity to fine tune it which is helpful to me as a facilitator to make the the design robust. Post this step the actual workshop design gets developed. This process creates a lot of mutual value for the success of the intervention. I strongly propose a workshop followed by a follow up session as part of my design. This ensures the practise, reflection and retention of the learning by the participants and impacting the desired outcome, strongly. The above approach and the power of facilitation are the ingredients of success for my clients and self.
