IAF Outreach – Promoting the Power of Facilitation Everywhere
16 July 2024
Outreach is the effort made by any organisation to connect with and offer support to a wider community, often to share knowledge, provide services, or foster collaboration. IAF India has made strides towards even during CoViD and continues to do so!
Under the IAF India Outreach initiative, the Pune hub of the IAF India chapter has signed an MOU with Pune-based MIT ADT University for a three year Outreach Project aimed at enhancing the facilitation skills of the university's educators.
Two facilitated sessions have already been conducted for the university. The first launch session centred on "Evolving Trends for Educators," facilitated by Sanjay Dugar, CPF, and Sanjeev Suryakumar, was a success, providing insightful facilitation methods as takeaways that helped secure the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University.
The second session, conducted recently in June 2024 by Yateen Gharat, CPF (M), and Brunda Manurkar, focused on "How to Engage Students in the Classroom for Holistic Learning Using Facilitation Skills." This session was another successful intervention with an overwhelming response from educators who expressed high value gained from the session, citing new and profound perspectives on effective pedagogical approaches.
These two events were transformative experiences, enabling attendees to derive actionable insights for their educational contexts.
This collaborative initiative between IAF India - Pune Hub and MIT ADT University under the MOU marks a pivotal step towards fostering educational excellence through facilitation practices, methodologies, and their application in education. We look forward to further collaborative endeavours aimed at advancing educational practices and student outcomes through this IAF India Outreach Initiative.
