Elections to the Board
A Board of Directors governs the International Association of Facilitators (IAF). The Board plays a crucial role in our Association, and this voluntary opportunity offers an opportunity to make a significant contribution to our community.
- Directors are elected by IAF members and serve on the Board as volunteers.
- The Board selects a director to be the Vice Chair and Chair.
Directors are elected for a two-year term and around half the positions on the Board come to term each year.
Elections are usually held in August or September. Elected directors start their term on 1 January.
Nominating Committee
As set out in the IAF Bylaws, a Nominating Committee of IAF members manages the nomination and election process. The committee is chaired by the Board Vice Chair.
This committee reviews Board member nominations to ensure complete information is provided, and each nominee has the qualifications and experience required to fulfill the role for which they have been nominated. The Nominations Committee:
- Manages a transparent and inclusive nomination and election process.
- Ensures the integrity of the process.
- Encourages members to nominate and vote.
- Tests the election platform.
- Resolves any matters that may affect the timeline or integrity of the process or outcome.

The IAF Nominating Committee 2025 is pleased to announce the results of the 2025 Board Elections
We’re delighted to welcome Hardy Alexander as the new Regional Director for the Asia Region, and to congratulate Manal Sayid, who has been re-elected to continue her term as Regional Director for North America. Their new Board terms will begin on 1 January, 2026.
Their leadership and dedication will continue to strengthen IAF’s global community and support facilitators across their regions.
A heartfelt thank-you to all the nominees and their dedication to IAF, and a big thank-you to the IAF Nominating Committee for their dedicated work in guiding the election process.
